Infrared Printer Connectivity for HP Palmtop PC
BOISE, ID, October 7, 1991 -- Extended Systems introduced today the only
"point and shoot" printer interface for the Hewlett-Packard 95LX palmtop
computer. Users simply place the HP palmtop PC next to the new Extended
Systems JetEye, an infrared receiver, and data is sent through the air
to the printer.
Offering HP palmtop PC users more convenience than ever before, the
Extended Systems JetEye has the capability to communicate with the
HP95LX through its built-in infrared interface.
JetEye installs in seconds. Users simply plug the JetEye printer module
between their existing Centronics printer cable and the parallel
interface of a HP LaserJet series II, IID, IIP, III, IIID, IIIP or IIISi
printer. A flexible cable connects JetEye's infrared sensor to the
printer module allowing the sensor to be placed in front of the printer,
on the desktop or in any other convenient location.
JetEye's pass-through design does not interrupt the normal flow of
office PC-to-printer operation. JetEye simply acts as a double input
port to the printer. There are no cables to swap or switches to flip.
The Extended Systems JetEye model ESI-9500A is available now and is
priced at $129. JetEye is backed by a two-year warranty and on-line
installation and application support. Extended Systems products are
available nationwide from major computer dealers.
Extended Systems product families focus on enabling users to increase
the life, functionality and capabilities of their computer resources by
providing high performance, reliability and ease of use.
For more information, end-users and dealers may contact Extended Systems
at 800-235-7576 or 406-587-7575.
